Calm after the chaos

This project involved the initial inspection of a large commercial building. The roof structure was in disrepair and had experienced multiple leaks. Originally the client asked for project bids, but after the JRS team investigated we found coverage through the P&C policy. Not only did we help get the roof covered, but during the restoration process we discovered further damage to the exterior gutters and siding. Our team was able to document and supplement the claim for maximum coverage.
Timeline. Project commencement was near end-of-season. JRS had to schedule material deliveries and crew work days with special attention to weather.
Facility operations. Any time restoration work is being done to a facility that is open and operational presents special safety and cleanliness concerns.
Size. Given that all work was on one building rather than multiple units meant that trades such as roofing needed to be done at once and very quickly.
Scope of work. Initial coverage did not account for necessities, such as scaffolding and trash chutes. It also did not account for all items of loss. JRS had to submit multiple rounds of supplements and supporting documentation before indemnity was achieved.
